KetaPay is an escrow API for platforms where people pay each other: marketplaces, freelance and services platforms, property and legal firms, dealers and social commerce. Your buyer pays into escrow, KetaPay holds the money, and the seller is paid only when the buyer confirms the goods or work. If something goes wrong, KetaPay runs the dispute. You integrate it the way you would a payment gateway: your server creates a checkout session, the buyer pays on KetaPay’s checkout, and webhooks tell you what happens next. The buyer pays the full amount up front. A deal can be split into milestones that are delivered and paid out one at a time. Delivering and releasing are always the buyer’s and seller’s own decisions, confirmed with a one-time code: your secret key on its own can never pay out an escrow.

What you need

A KetaPay business account and a server that can make HTTPS requests and receive webhooks. Test keys (sk_test_) work as soon as you sign up, and live keys (sk_live_) are issued once your business is verified. Keys stay on your server, never in a browser or an app. The SDKs are optional, and handle retries, pagination and webhook verification for you.
