Get a sandbox key

Sign in to the business dashboard, switch it to Test and create a secret key in Settings > API keys. It starts with sk_test_. Test keys use test money, and any email they cause is marked [TEST].
No account yet? Use the public sandbox key sk_test_docs_246e232c64ccc7a001bf61ec0f2e6ab0. It’s shared by everyone reading these docs; see Playground.

Create a checkout session

Create it on your server. The price and the milestones never come from the browser.
4

Pay it

Open session.url and pay with a test card, or pay it from code:
Want to try it without writing code? Use the Playground.
5

Handle the webhook

Register an endpoint on the dashboard’s Developers page or with POST /webhook_endpoints. When the buyer pays, KetaPay sends escrow.funded. Verify the signature against the raw body before you trust it:
See Webhooks for retries, ordering and secret rotation.

Next

  • Move the escrow through delivery and release in the sandbox: Testing.
  • Let your customers act from your own UI: Customer tokens.
